Hurricane Florence info and net monitoring
« on: September 13, 2018, 06:57:45 pm »
I've been watching one particular weather web cam on the coast....  It's been pretty intense.  During daylight hours, the video is actually pretty darn good and you can watch the wave action.  When it is dark - forget it, you can't see anything...

And this "Sky Tower Cam"  - it is more light sensitive and it is constantly "panning" across the horizon.

The 441.650 repeater here in Brenham will intermittently be hooked up to the Hurricane Net in MONITOR ONLY mode if you would like to listen in from time to time.  You will know it is connected to the hurricane net in monitor mode if you key it and it comes back with a very short "dit" for a courtesy tone.  When traffic comes FROM the hurricane net, the courtesy tone will be a "dit dit".

The rest of the time it will probably be connected to the WIN system.  (With the regular and longer "dah" as a courtesy tone")
