Just a FYI on the 3200 radio.  If you read the reviews of this radio there is one negative that is universal.  The cooling fan comes on and off frequently even in receive mode.  There is a firmware update on the Yaesu website that is available.
Long story short-problem is fixed. Fan now comes on when transmitting at about 15 seconds in.

I did notice that there are some changes in the settings menu.  going to download the usermanual from Yaesu to see if the manual is updated for the new firmware.

If you use RTSystems programming software, you will need to update software from the RTS website to work with the new firmware.

Hope this helps

Bill,

Looks great.  Looks like it could replace a number of radios in a shack.

Glad to see you received radio OK

Thanks Bill.  Appreciate all the effort put into establishing this network of repeaters and the AREAS System of communication.

Ran across this on a website.  Thought it would be good to share.  Dated for sure but relevant as ever.

The Amateur's Code

by Paul M. Segal, W9EEA (1928)

The Radio Amateur is:

CONSIDERATE never knowingly operating in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others.

LOYAL offering loyalty, encouragement and support to other amateurs, local clubs and the American Radio Relay League, through which Amateur Radio in the United States is represented nationally and internationally.

PROGRESSIVE with knowledge abreast of science, a well built and efficient station, and operation beyond reproach.

FRIENDLY with slow and patient operation when requested, friendly advice and counsel to the beginner, kindly assistance, co-operation and consideration for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit.

BALANCED Radio is an avocation, never interfering with duties owed to family, job, school or community.

PATRIOTIC with station and skill always ready for service to country and community.

Found a new mode similar to JT-65. FT-8 runs on WSJT-X version 1.8 software. Operating on a 15 second cycle for receiving and transmitting. QRP power level.  Good thing is less heat buildup compared to JT-65. 40 meters-7.074. 20 meters-14.074. 17 meters 18.100.

Just started playing with the software

More later

Thanks
